RAM

The eHow website describes RAM as the computer’s instant memory. It is advisable to upgrade your RAM if you run more than one programs at once because your computer is using more memory. RAM comes in many forms such as DDR2 and DDR3.

Ammas describes RAM (random access memory) as the most common known form of computer memory. RAM data can be accessed in any order. DRAM (dynamic random access memory) is the most common form of RAM, where a transistor and a capacitor work together to create a memory cell, which represents a single bit of data.

Computermemoryupgrade.net describes three main types of RAM: SDRAM, DDR, and Rambus DRAM. SDRAM (synchronous DRAM) is a new type of DRAM. It is able to officially go up to 133 MHz. DDR is (double data rate SDRAM) twice as fast. Rambus DRAM, or RDRAM, is a newer technology. It is costly, but very efficient.
